Our Story

TriStar Electric has been serving a wide variety of commercial and residential clients since its creation in 2015. Owner Jason Schepis founded the company with two electricians after working for Charles E. Jarrell Contracting Company for 10 years, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in electrical skills, business management, and client relations. TriStar’s reputation for exceptional performance and high-quality installations has enabled it to expand the variety of projects it takes on. The company now employs a tight-knit team of five electricians and one office manager, who work hard each day to ensure customers are satisfied and projects are completed exceptionally well and on time. Every time.

Meet Jason

When you meet Owner Jason Schepis, there’s no doubt he’s passionate about making customers happy by ensuring each job is done well, looks great and, most importantly, meets the customer’s needs and timelines. Ask him about a project, and you’re likely to hear him say, “Let’s do it.” He’s eager to help and get your job done.

Jason moved to the St. Louis area at the age of 15 after living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he was born, and Crown Point, Indiana. After graduating from Marquette High School, Jason entered IBEW Local 1 Union’s apprenticeship program and spent his first two years at Benson Electric, learning the basics of wiring, installing conduit, and UPS or back-up power systems. Jason completed his apprenticeship at Charles E. Jarrell Contracting Company, where he learned the HVAC and motors components of electrical contracting, including temperature controls and the full scope of wiring systems. At the end of his apprenticeship, Jarrell promoted Jason to a full-time journeyman, and he worked his way up to general foreman and later, electrical superintendent. During his time at Jarrell, Jason earned his master electrician’s license.

A natural leader and go-getter, Jason began to expand his knowledge of electrical systems outside the scope of operations Jarrell typically performed. Eager to explore more opportunities, Jason moved to open his own company, TriStar Electric, in 2015. With his new company, Jason and his team began to work with a variety of large and small commercial businesses, everything from Home Depot and Aldi to Ballpark Village and the Eureka Police Department. His list of key services expanded to meet customer needs in everything from voice and data systems to car-charging stations to integrated security solutions and more. His team earned certifications to take on new client needs in areas such as fiber testing and installation. On any given job, Jason and his team know to expect the unexpected and are adept at problem solving and adapting to ensure the job gets done no matter the challenges.

A member of the Eureka Chamber of Commerce, Jason is also president of the Eureka Lacrosse Club. He has sponsored local events such as the Geggie Elementary K-5 Run and Easter Seals. When he’s not working, Jason loves spending time with his large family, whether at the beach in Florida or poolside back home. He enjoys going to his children’s school activities, participating in local events or grabbing a Yuengling and a bite to eat at a local pub. He’s a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Christmas. To Jason, the holidays are a special time to celebrate with his family. In fact, every Oct. 31st, his home transforms into a Christmas wonderland, with seasonal decor both inside and out.

Jason is excited about the future and plans to continue growing his business in a community he loves. He’s eager to meet you and find ways he can support your vision for growth and improvements.
